Meet Wes! He’s the first one to say "Hey" and genuinely ask how you are doing. Whether you want to shoot the breeze or share your intimates, he's a trusted resource for all walks of life.
Wes Wolter is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) who brings over 20 years of experience and a truly "creative" and "eclectic" approach to healing. Forget the stuffy clinician—Wes is all about authentic, empowering support and “keeping it real” with adults, families, adolescents and couples. He’s the clinical director and lead psychotherapist at Beam Mental Health, where he’s developed a unique, holistic model grounded in current neuroscience, trauma informed best practices, bio-hacking, preventative care, and the mind-body connection.
Education and Specialized Training
Wes Wolter's commitment to the field is supported by a robust academic foundation and extensive specialized training. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from SUNY Oneonta, a Master of Forensic Psychology degree from Argosy University in Santa Ana, California, and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Springfield College. He is dually licensed in the state of Vermont as a Mental Health Counselor and Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
His dedication to mastering advanced therapeutic techniques includes training through the Psychotherapy Institute of America and specialized certification in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Additionally, he has completed significant continuing education in Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy and a variety of other trauma-informed and holistic modalities.
Professional Experience
His extensive career began with a focus on forensic psychology, including an internship at a forensic mental hospital and rehab in California . Early in his tenure in Vermont, he was the lead therapist for the men's unit at a Vermont inpatient rehab, notably during the height of the state’s heroin epidemic. Later, he was instrumental in developing and directing clinical services for severely mentally ill clients transitioning from the state hospital into residential homes in Waterbury, Vermont.
Before founding his current practice, Wes served as a clinical supervisor for an adolescent residential program in Vermont and New Hamshire. He then went on to develop and serve as the Clinical Director of Milldale Farm Center for Wellness in Vermont, a holistic mental health practice and retreat.

Committed to a whole-person approach to healing, Wes has been in private practice for over 10 years and currently serves as the Clinical Director of Beam Mental Health, a virtual mental health and coaching practice. He offers gold-standard practices in trauma-informed psychotherapy and is dedicated to holistic modalities. This dedication includes over 500 hours of yoga training—having studied at the Sivananda ashram—and a decade of humanitarian efforts spreading peace through yoga festivals and retreats. For the past 15 years, he has also incorporated alternative therapies such as camping, hiking, mountain biking, sauna, and other nature-based programming to support mental well-being and personal growth.
Wes specializes in gold-standard, trauma-informed methods like EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Somatic Therapy. His eclectic expertise also includes being a sauna master, breathwork facilitator, yoga instructor, and assisting in psychedelic integration. He offers support for a wide range of challenges including trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, PTSD, stress, substance and technology addictions (Screen, social media, gaming addiction), mens work and sexual and intimacy challenges. Beyond direct therapy, Wes provides professional clinical supervision, consultation, and specialized Industrial Organizational Wellness services to improve organizational function. He is the creator of the 8 Pillars of Mental Wellness, a preventative care model that supports clients and clinicians. Wes offers trainings in person and virtually.
Personal Life
When Wes is not acting as an instrument for change, you can find him with friends and family, exploring his passions for the outdoors and wellness: traveling, camping, mnt biking, enjoying sauna, fitness, and hitting the road on his motorcycles, always with his beloved dogs nearby. Wes a Queens, NY native / Vermont nature transplant is practical, fun, edgy, and has down-to-earth energy which is exactly what he brings to every session and training. A lover of early hip hop and classic rock, this 80s baby is here to support you and understands modern-day challenges.
